Hed Kandi celebrated their three year anniversary last Saturday. Richard from partymania asked if I wanted to go and help a colleague, Brian, so Brian could up his photographic skills.
Hed Kandi is probably one of the few events I really like to shoot, especially the dancers, and this time was no disappointment. Too bad the light guy did weird colors during the first round that they danced. The second time was much better, but after I took a look at them, the one that I really liked was flawed (feet not entirely in frame) I guess I should use the 16-85 next time-meaning I’d have to buy a new lens.
Anyway, I choose the following picture, because those blue eyes in the right chick. The middle one I had a feeling I’d met before, and, according to my archives was someone I met in 2006. I know I could have posted a picture of DJ Roog, but you can find his picture in the “Party and Concerts” portfolio section.
No fancy PS stuff, except I removed some lipstick one of the ladies’ teeth.

So I wanted to go to het Paard again on saturday the first of august. But the guys from partymania said that Whoosah beach party would be a better bet, so I went there.
It was a small place, with not many people. And after the shoot I got a text message saying the Asta in the hague would be better with more people.
Oh well, the whole bit cost me 8 euro, the drinks were way too expensive (6 euro’s for 33ml of carbonated water is steep)-but entry was free for everyone (still, I’m used to getting free enrty and cheap or free drinks, I guess I’m spoiled).

I went to Club Mad in het Paard van Troje (through Party Mania) on the 31st of juli. unfortunately it was the middle of the summer vacation, so the number of students was low. But as the Hague is near the sea, it is a given that many went to beach parties, so het Paard was pretty empty.
Oh well, nomatter where I go, there’s always at least one good picture, relatively speaking of course, not absolutely 
I did a crop, levels, contrast and clarity slider.

Partymania got me a gig at Paard van Troje last Saturday. It was supposed to be held in the main hall, but it turned out that they only expected three hundred people, and since the main hall was used for some sort of concert, followed by an nine hundred strong after party, Stug was moved to the small room.
I walked round, shooting various people, until some people I photographed pointed out to me that they already had the partymania website card that I give after I take a picture. So I gathered my stuff and left after I tried to photograph the second DJ of the evening.
Funny thing though, there was a French DJ who was difficult to photograph since he moved his head to the rhythm of the music.
You can find the rest of the pics here. I know that the picture below looks better, but that’s because the picture below was done in photoshop and the ones on the website were done with Lightroom which can go a long way but not as far as I’d like it to go
