A friend of mine texted me if I was free on sunday the 16th. He’d arranged to do a shoot for fok.nl, and since none of their reporters were going, he had an extra ticket, and he wondered if I wanted to tag along, so I did.
The event was the Dutch Championship Panna, and it was held in the westergas fabriek, a disused factory where they used to store gas, but which has since been converted for (dance)events.
We got a special press pass and the VIP area was stocked with tons of food, none of it halal, though lots of fans and panna players were muslims, so that was sorta akward I thought.
Although I submitted 10 pictures to fok, they only placed Jeroen’s. Oh well, I got in for free and I had a blast shooting two thirds of the event with my 16mm fisheye lens.
I liked this total shot (with my 16mm fish) the best of all my shots–but it was really hard to decide.
Idid the usual stuff in LR.

I occasionally have to work in Nieuwegein, and last Monday I took the opportunity during lunch break to drive to the heart of Utrecht, and visit the Dom, Utrecht’s famous cathedral (well it’s famous in the Netherlands, so everybody in the world must have heard of it, right
) I took a bunch of photo’s concentrating on using my two fisheyes, the nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED DX Fisheye and the nikkor 16mm f/2.8D AF Fisheye.
The picture I selected is taken with the 10.5 mm. I’ve tried to remove the flare from the sun, but that’s not possible, so let’s just say it’s supposed to be there. No fancy PS stuff, just a fancy lens.

Jeroen suggested I do something with a fisheye and the wall, and then defish it. I thought it would nice to do it, but I have yet to get my hand on decent defishing software.
I had a roll of fuji neopan 1600 in my nikon F100. Itook the picture below with my nikkor 16mm AF D @ f/5.6.
I had it developed (yes I was lazy and it took 4 days to get it developed (used to be two–this shows you that film is virtually dead) and scanned it in using my Nikon coolscan V ED. I used curves and black & white color setting in photoshop. I could because I scanned it as color film.
Maybe I should write a book: “50 ways to photograph a boring wall”

On saturday the 20th I had a shoot with a bunch of friends from a Dutch photography message board. The assignment was to do a shoot of a fitness centre. There were six photographers, too many for such a small centre, but it was a hoot (as in slang for extremely funny) anyway. Afterwards we had a few drinks and laughs, finished with dinner at a shoarma restaurant owned by one of the photographer’s uncle.
Because the assigment was to be in black and white, I converted all my good stuff. Well to be honest, I was quite surprised I had anything good. The shot below is perhaps my favorite one, taken with the Nikkor 10.5 fisheye.
